Choosing a Car-Free Life

I recently accomplished something I've been wanting to do for a long time: I stopped driving.
People in the background: Woohoo!
One person: Uh... okay.
Me: In the past few months, I moved to a town with better public transit, and I started a new job I can walk to. I no longer have access to a car, and neither does my roommate. I now rely on walking and public transit to get everywhere I need to go, as well as occasional rides from other people. It's challenging sometimes, but overall, much less stressful than driving. I love it!
Our society is so car-centric that it can be hard to escape from car-dependence, let alone consider that choosing a car-free life is a valid option, especially in the suburbs. But it is, and I'm living it proudly!
